A Santa Cruz-based art group called Pacific Face Painters strayed from face paining and turned to another part of the body with these belly paintings. And while you might imagine belly paintings as belly buttons turned into silly faces, these belly paintings beautiful, intricate and promote life's little miracles.

The artistic group turned the bellies of pregnant women into a new and fun way of welcoming soon-to-be bundles of joy. The expectant moms' bellies are painted to resemble elephants, flowers and even the babies that lay within them.

The belly paintings are a unique aspect to include in maternity photo shoots and can also be cute to don at a themed baby shower. Mommies-to-be can don a blue painting to reveal if they are carrying a boy, and a pink one if they are expecting a girl!
