# Rustic Bell Jarred Lamps This Bell Jar Lamp Creates Ambiance with a Caged Light Bulb By Jen Chae | Published 2013-06-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bell-jar-lamp References: [en.pinkoi](http://en.pinkoi.com/product/1k7MpDKL) & [nt150.tw](http://www.nt150.com.tw/Item_id1499211.htm) For anyone who has watched the Beauty and the Beast, it might be easier to understand what this [bell jar lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-balloon-lamp) is going for. Caging not a rose but a light bulb, this lamp design by MSA Glass Engravings gives more meaning and value to a mundane light source. The clear glass casing reveals the vibrantly coiled [clear glass bulb](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nola-lamp). It isn't necessarily bright, so probably not fit for a functional room lamp, but it makes for a pretty and intriguing sight. The layers of glass create a sort of ambient effect that is both sci-fi-esque and whimsical. The bell jar is finished off with a [wooden base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp), which is what adds the rustic appeal to the lamp. It's a creative way to decorate and subtly light your bedside. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Ambient Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new lighting solutions that focus on creating ambient effects rather than functional brightness. - **Whimsical Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine functionality with whimsical design elements to create unique and visually intriguing products. - **Rustic Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the market for rustic-themed decor items that offer both aesthetic appeal and functionality. ### Where This Applies - **Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate innovative materials and designs into lighting products to enhance ambiance and visual appeal. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce new decorative items that combine rustic elements with modern aesthetics for a unique home decor experience. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with designers to create lighting options that contribute to the overall aesthetic of interior spaces while maintaining functionality. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Brutalist Bedside Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vestige-lamp.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Candle Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-candle-lamps.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Turned Wood-Inspired Lamp Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bobine.md) - [Retro-Tinged Compact Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lari-mini.md) - [Sculptural Glass Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuloa.md) - [Eclipse-Inspired Whimsical Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-traveler.md)
