That means that this creation is actually a wooden box with beets sticking out of it and people can use it to make a beat when they touch the beets. While it may sound confusing, the concept is actually fairly simple in its ingenious way. "Powered by a [Raspberry Pi](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stereoscopic-display-system) with a [capacitive touch sensor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roli-airwave) and an audio amplifier," as Scott explains, when people tap the vegetables, the box emits different drum beat sounds that can be made into a musical rhythm. For a new way to play some beats, give the awesomely interesting BeetBox a try. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 42% | Activity: 73% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Vegetable-based Musical Instruments:** Opportunity to create innovative musical instruments using unconventional materials like vegetables. ### Where This Applies - **Music Production:** Opportunity to develop and produce unique musical instruments that appeal to a niche market. - **Sustainable Agriculture:** Opportunity to explore the intersection of agriculture and music by creating instruments made from vegetables. - **Technology and Electronics:** Opportunity to leverage technology and electronics to create interactive and unconventional musical instruments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Compact Bio-Synth Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-scion.md) - [Pocket-Sized Beat Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stylophone-beat.md) - [Gamified Music-Making Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beat-machine.md) - [Beatboxing Robot Dogs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dj-beat-boxer.md) - [Beet Jerky Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beet-jerky.md) - [Ultra-Modern MIDI Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/midi-device.md) - [Sustainable Hand-Crafted Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/working-synth.md) - [Interactive Music Fitness Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/music-boxing-machine.md) - [Digital Visualized Feedback Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibra-instrument.md)
