# Reingineered Beer Glasses Leffe Created a New Beer Drinking Glass to Enhance Tastings By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2016-08-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beer-drinking-glass References: [barmagazine](http://barmagazine.co.uk/new-glass-unveiled-belgian-abbey-beer/) & [facebook](http://www.facebook.com/Leffe.uk/videos/1731730490442633/) AB InBev recently released a new [beer drinking glass design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/schneaky-espresso-martini) that was specifically made to enhance the experience of tasting its Leffe beer. The redesigned beer glass is shaped in a way that leaves a long stem that can be held in the same way as a wine glass, so that the temperature of the body does not alter the beverage. This shape also makes it possible for drinkers to appreciate the color of the Belgian beer. One of the more subtle design features of the glass is an L-shaped engraving at the bottom of the glass, which causes bubbles to be released frequently so that the beer can keep its frothy texture. With the rise of [craft beer culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/core-legends), this retooled beer glass design will appeal to many beer fans who want to enjoy a tasting to the fullest. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 80% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Enhanced Beer Tasting:** The reengineered beer glass design enhances the tasting experience by preserving temperature and showcasing the beer's color. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Craft Beer:** Craft breweries can capitalize on the trend by offering beer tastings using the new enhanced beer glass design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Conceptual Craft Beer Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sour-glass.md) - [Perfect Sound-Producing Drinkware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perfect-cheers.md) - [Beer Glass-Themed Chocolates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chocolate-chalices.md) - [Thin-Based Angular Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drinkware-1.md) - [Dedicated Craft Cocktail Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hybrid-cocktail-glass.md) - [Complimentary Glassware Beer Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birra-moretti.md) - [Libation-Cooling Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diamas.md) - [Self-Measuring Cocktail Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elevated-craft-hybrid-cocktail-glass.md) - [Star-Shaped Ice Cubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-shaped-ice-cubes.md)
