# Honeycomb-Inspired Lighting The Beehouse Lamp By Marissa Brassfield | Published 2008-10-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beehouse-lamp References: [apartmenttherapy](http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/lighting/hot-or-not-beehouse-lamps-by-yar-rassadin-064583) & [rassadin](http://www.rassadin.com/yaroslav/bee_lamp.html) The Beehouse Lamp concept by Yar Rassadin in Russia is based on the hexagonal cells that bees create as they build their honeycombs. The honey found in actual honeycombs is replaced in this lamp with honey-yellow [Swarovski](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-era-x-swarovski) crystals to bring the bee theme home. The Beehouse Lamp's geometric cells are made from white plastic. The lamp was entered into the Designboom and [Swarovski Crystal Vision Design Competition](http://www.designboom.com/contest/view.php?contest_pk=22&item_pk=21252&p=3) held earlier this year. **Implications** - I love the way the beehouse lamp integrates nature and design to create these gorgeously artistic lamps. Striking the perfect balance between style and functionality, these honeycomb lighting units will add color and flavor to any living space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Nature-inspired Lighting:** The Beehouse Lamp showcases the potential for incorporating natural elements into lighting design, providing an opportunity for designers to create unique and visually appealing products. - **Geometric Design:** The hexagonal cells of the Beehouse Lamp present a trend in geometric design, which can be explored in various industries to create modern and aesthetically pleasing products. - **Crystal Embellishments:** The use of honey-yellow Swarovski crystals in the Beehouse Lamp demonstrates the potential for incorporating luxurious and eye-catching crystal embellishments in lighting fixtures, offering an opportunity for designers and manufacturers to add elegance and sophistication to their products. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** The Beehouse Lamp's nature-inspired and geometric design elements can inspire new lighting solutions in the interior design industry. - **Home Decor:** The honeycomb theme of the Beehouse Lamp presents an opportunity for the home decor industry to offer unique and stylish lighting options for consumers. - **Luxury Goods:** By incorporating Swarovski crystals, the Beehouse Lamp highlights the potential for luxury goods industries to create high-end lighting fixtures that exude elegance and opulence. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Adorable Bee-Inspired Candlesticks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beeinspired-candlesticks.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Sleek Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-lamp-concept.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Honeycomb-Inspired Terracotta Walls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beehive-system.md) - [Silkworm-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phantom-lighting.md) - [Metal Thread Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-lamp.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md) - [Geometric Nostalgic Night Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handmaid-table-lamp.md)
