# Heavy-Duty Portable Cubicles The Beebox Mobile Office Provides a Place to Work on a Whim By Meghan Young | Published 2012-11-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beebox-mobile-office References: [core77](http://www.core77.com/blog/object_culture/beyond_the_cubicle_buro_beehives_beebox_mobile_office_23817.asp) & [beehives.nl](http://www.beehives.nl/2012/11/beebox-mobile-office/) The BEEBOX mobile office might look like a cage for dangerous animals or a large security box for precious items, but it is a heavy-duty [portable workstation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mespace-workstation). Natural disasters, like the recently passed Hurricane Sandy, often result in displaced individuals not only from their home but also from the office. Although finding a place to live is of a higher priority, once that is addressed, finding a place to work effectively becomes another issue altogether for some. The BEEBOX mobile office provides a great solution. Designed by Amsterdam-based [Buro Beehive](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gunter-restaurant) for manufacturer Fiction Factory, the BEEBOX mobile office can be used virtually anywhere, as long as it has access to a socket. Of course, that could prove difficult during a real catastrophe. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Disaster-resistant Workspaces:** The BEEBOX mobile office offers a solution for displaced individuals to have a secure and functional workspace during natural disasters. - **Portable Workstations:** The heavy-duty design of the BEEBOX mobile office allows professionals to work on the go, providing flexibility and convenience. - **Mobile Office Solutions:** The BEEBOX mobile office caters to the growing demand for portable workspaces that can be used in various locations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture and Design:** The BEEBOX mobile office showcases the potential for innovative designs in creating practical and durable workspaces. - **Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can explore opportunities to develop and produce similar portable office solutions. - **Emergency and Disaster Management:** The BEEBOX mobile office presents possibilities for organizations involved in disaster response to offer mobile workspaces for affected individuals. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Portable Office Rooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ootbox.md) - [Compact Mobile Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/castillo-mobile-office.md) - [Compact Work Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dragon-tiny-homes-1.md) - [Office-Equipped Camper Vans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomadic-office.md) - [Scooter-Like Portable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-work-station.md) - [Portable Personal Office Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beblau-vertical-office.md) - [Quirky Solo Office Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/work-capsules.md) - [Modern Portable Work Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/worknic.md) - [Briefcase-Compact Office Set-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-office-1.md)
