# Dual-Purpose Bedside Tables This Bedside Table Also Functions as a Light Source By Mishal Omar | Published 2016-08-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bedside-table References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2016/08/09/the-surface-of-this-bedside-table-is-also-a-light/) & [pietrorusso](http://www.pietrorusso.com/) This bedside table is based on a concept that is simple yet also highly functional. Created by 'Pietro Russo Design Studio' and titled the 'SAT Light Table,' this furniture piece is modern in its design. While most people have some type of light source on their bedside tables, it is not a common sight to see both of those things combined into one. The SAT Light Table is attached to the homeowner's wall and does not have a base -- functioning as a suspended table. Its [cylindrical shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tong-side-table) is completely covered in a [flat LED light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizon-table-light), making it the perfect item to hold items as well as provide a light for people at night. This unique bedside table combines two important functions into one modern piece of decor. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Dual-purpose Furniture:** Creating furniture pieces that serve multiple functions in order to maximize space and convenience. - **Innovative Lighting Solutions:** Integrating lighting features into furniture to enhance functionality and aesthetics. - **Modern Minimalism:** Designing furniture with sleek and simple aesthetics that complement contemporary living spaces. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Opportunity to create versatile furniture pieces that optimize functionality and space usage. - **Lighting Design:** Exploring new ways to incorporate lighting features into furniture to enhance user experience. - **Home Decor:** Catering to the demand for minimalist and multi-functional furniture designs that fit modern living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Illuminated Modern Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumera.md) - [Adaptable Bedroom Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mate-bedside-table.md) - [Industrial Floating Bedside Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tu-bedside-table.md) - [Bookcase-Equipped Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/low-wall-side-table.md) - [Tech-Rich Bedside Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiinteriors-histand.md) - [Connected Multifunctional Nightstands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-sleep-nightstand.md) - [Curvaceous Storage-Focused Nightstands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cozy-night-stand.md) - [Dual-Position Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furniture-design-concept.md) - [Wall-Mounted Two-Legged Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instable-side-table.md)
