While most people would prefer to use [wireless technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-display) at all times, especially since many are used to the ease and convenience of their smartphones, it is something that is not necessarily reliable. This is more true the further a person is from the [router](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-router). Beamcaster by RiT Wireless couple the consistent strength of cabling with the accessibility of wireless. It essentially casts beams of light, hence its name, to different computer units around a room. Fast and flexible, its use of [optical distribution](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/6in1-wireless) can reach as far as 18 feet away. It will be available in a few months. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/computers) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Light-transmitting Wi-fi Hubs:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrating light-transmitting technology into Wi-Fi hubs to provide consistent and reliable internet connectivity even at a distance from the router. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Wireless Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Revolutionizing the wireless technology industry by combining the reliability of cabling with the convenience of wireless connectivity through light-transmitting Wi-Fi hubs. - **Optical Distribution:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Implementing optical distribution technology in various industries to transmit data and connectivity over longer distances, as demonstrated by the Beamcaster by RiT Wireless. - **Internet Connectivity:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Addressing the need for improved and reliable internet connectivity by developing technologies like the Beamcaster by RiT Wireless that bridge gaps in cabling and wireless networks. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Optical Fiber USB Extenders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optichub.md) - [Sculptural Wifi Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-x3-pro-wifi.md) - [Device-Tracking Wifi Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/radix-be22000-turbo.md) - [High-Speed Wi-Fi Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumen-technologies.md) - [Next-Gen Networking Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/msi-roamii-be-lite.md) - [Wireless HDMI Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/4urpc.md) - [Wireless Power Infrastructure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-power1.md) - [Future-Ready WiFi Router Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/asus-rtbe88u-wifi-7-router.md) - [Ultra-Fast Travel Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/be3600-travel-router.md)
