Located in Port Phillip Bay, on Australia's south coast, this stunning architectural gem was designed by Wolveridge Architects. This timber-clad beachside villa, also know as the Blairgowrie House, is home to a young family who wanted to be [close to nature](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haus-am-lagnesberg). When you walk into the house there is a sense of warmth, comfort and a serene beauty. Made using locally sourced timber, the interior decor is all about exposed wooden walls and timber-paneled floors. The multiplied geometric motif found in the interior and designed on the exterior of the house pay homage to the Knox homes (an architect in the 1960s) which feature perforated breeze blocks. "One of the owners grew up in Eltham, a rural bushland retreat east of the city in a house designed by Alistair Knox," says one of the architects. "The imagery portrayed by the client of a childhood memory growing up in a Knox dwelling had a significant impact on the project." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 87% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Eco Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/ecoarchitecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Timber-clad Beachside Villas:** Opportunity for architects to create more serene and sustainable beachside villas using locally sourced timber and geometric patterns. - **Geometric Motifs:** Opportunity to incorporate multiplied geometric motifs in building designs for a unique and visually stunning look. - **Exposed Wooden Walls:** Opportunity to use exposed timber walls and timber-paneled floors in interior decor for a warm and natural look. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** Utilizing locally sourced timber and unique geometric patterns creates an opportunity for architecture firms to create sustainable and stunning buildings. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating exposed wooden walls and timber-paneled floors in interior design can provide a warm and natural aesthetic. - **Real Estate:** Creating unique and sustainable beachside villas using timber and geometric patterns can attract potential buyers seeking a serene and visually stunning property. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Organic Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diachok-architects.md) - [Coastal Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cornwall-retreat.md) - [Meadow-Overlooking Sleek Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studioac-1.md) - [Light-Filled Open Beach Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-sky-beach-house.md) - [Palm Springs-Inspired Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tonal-bliss.md) - [Coastal Island Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasparakisfriel.md) - [Coastal Timber Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-guaec-project.md) - [Blackened Timber Tranquil Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hideaway-house.md) - [Relaxing Wooden Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heatherhill-beach-house.md)
