# Sand-Stashing Safes The Beach Vault Allows You to Stash Your Valuables Under Beach Sand By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2014-06-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beach-vault References: [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/beach-vault-valuables-security/32394/) & [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/911363456/beach-vault?ref=discovery) The Beach Vault is a contraption that allows you to [safely hide away your personal belongings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/in-my-pocket) in the beach if you feel the need to go for a swim, go for the bathroom or do anything that requries you to leave your belongings behind. Sure you could just use a backpack, but leaving a backpack in plain sight -- especially on a beach that's particularly crowded -- may not be a good idea if there are petty thieves roaming around. So rather than leaving your valuables unguarded in a [backpack on a sand](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waterproof-tote), why not just bury them where nobody can see them? That's what the Beach Vault lets you do. It's a [cylinder-shaped plastic container](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/round-vault-door) that is large enough to store objects such as tablets and e-readers. It is screwed into the sand and hidden under an attached towel. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 7% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Hidden Storage Solutions:** The trend of hidden storage solutions like the Beach Vault presents an opportunity for innovative designs that offer secure and inconspicuous ways to protect personal belongings. - **Discreet Beach Security:** The rise of discreet beach security products, such as the Beach Vault, opens up possibilities for new technologies that enhance convenience and peace of mind while enjoying outdoor activities. - **Anti-theft Beach Accessories:** The demand for anti-theft beach accessories, like the Beach Vault, creates a space for companies to develop innovative solutions that combine functionality and security for beachgoers. ### Where This Applies - **Travel and Leisure:** The travel and leisure industry can tap into the trend of hidden storage solutions by creating innovative products that enhance safety and security for travelers, particularly at beach destinations. - **Outdoor Recreation:** The outdoor recreation industry can explore disruptive innovation opportunities to provide beachgoers with inconspicuous and reliable storage solutions, leveraging the growing demand for discreet beach security products. - **Personal Security:** The personal security industry can develop new anti-theft beach accessories that offer secure and practical ways for individuals to protect their valuables while engaging in outdoor activities, like swimming or sunbathing. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Discreet File Security Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/secret-photo-vault.md) - [Drainable Summer Beach Bags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steele-canvas-1.md) - [Portable Safety Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/armorsiren-portable-security-system.md) - [Connected Key-Free Personal Safes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-biometric-personal-safe.md) - [Makeup-Hiding Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elfs-cosmetic-security-line.md) - [Digital Asset-Focused Physical Vaults](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/physical-vault.md) - [Biometric Aluminum Micro Safes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trova-go-plus.md) - [At-Home Beach Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beach-in-a-box.md) - [Beach Backpack Recliners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beach-backpack-recliner.md)
