# Starry Beach Shelters The Stargazer's Cabin Lets Beachgoers Admire a Star-Filled Ceiling By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2016-03-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beach-shelter References: [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/stargazers-cabin/42523/) & [georgekingarchitects](http://georgekingarchitects.com/projects/) As far as beach shelters go, they don't come as beautifully and innovatively designed as the Stargazer's Cabin. Designed by London and Melbourne-based architectural practice [George King Architects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/june-st-george), the Stargazer's cabin is set to be situated on a beach in Eastbourne, in England. The shelter will be capable of gently glowing like a lantern, while its facade will feature star constellations. This beach shelter's roof will feature small holes -- sheathed with PVC to keep rain out -- that will allow sunlight to infiltrate the interior in the daytime. At night-time, the shelter will function as a lantern of sorts thanks to the presence of a big light inside. Ultimately, the Stargazer's Cabin will add further character to Eastbourne's beach and will give beachgoers a whole new reason to hit the beach. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Beach Shelter Innovations:** Opportunity for developing beach shelters with unique designs and features to enhance the beach experience. - **Natural Lighting Integration:** Opportunity to incorporate natural lighting into architecture to create unique lighting effects and reduce the need for artificial lighting. - **Outdoor Relaxation Spaces:** Opportunity to create innovative outdoor spaces that provide a relaxing atmosphere for beachgoers. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture and Design:** Opportunity for architects and designers to create innovative structures for various outdoor settings. - **Tourism and Hospitality:** Opportunity for resorts and hotels to enhance their beach amenities and attract tourists with unique beach shelter experiences. - **Leisure and Recreation:** Opportunity for companies in the leisure and recreation industry to develop innovative outdoor relaxation spaces for beachgoers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Charming Rural Compact Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stella-the-stargazer.md) - [Star-Shaped Structural Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-archipelagic-void.md) - [Nightsky-Observing Clear-Top Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sky-view-tent.md) - [Light-Equipped Outdoor Sun Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/led-starry-night-sun-shade.md) - [Illuminating Water-Based Pavillions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelter-pavilion.md) - [Romantic Seaside Pier Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seaside-pavilion.md) - [Miniature Seaside Wooden Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alexander-mcgee.md) - [Reflective Mountain-Based Shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelter-santerpass.md) - [Light-Filled Open Beach Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-sky-beach-house.md)
