# Prismatic Superhero Desserts This Batman Cake Hosts a Hidden Secret By Shiori Mine | Published 2012-08-09 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batman-cake References: [thatsnerdalicious](http://www.thatsnerdalicious.com/nerd-cakes/batman-cake-has-rainbow-colored-layers-of-awesomeness-dessert-time/) Much like the elusive Batcave, this Batman cake boasts a hidden surprise waiting to be sliced into. The superhero’s trademark symbol is the star in this darling and delicious creation. After baking and stacking the prismatic cake layers, bakers will need to carefully carve out the Bat-signal icon. Unless you are a sharp-handed illustrator, printing off a stencil will help keep things looking authentic. Coat the vibrant dessert in a layer of [chocolate ganache](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peanut-butter-bert) and serve it up on a yellow-hued platter. The geeky dessert is ideal for children’s birthday parties or perhaps a Batman-themed soiree with friends. It certainly looks impressive and is no harder to make than a standard [layered cake](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/party-rings-celebration-cake). Add a fun and unexpected twist to your comic-inspired Batman cake with this rainbow-packed recipe. If this doesn’t get guests exclaiming “holy smokes Batman!” then I don’t know what will. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Hidden Symbol Cakes:** Creating cakes with hidden symbols inside, adding an element of surprise to celebratory events. - **Prismatic Desserts:** Using vibrant colors in multi-layered desserts, creating Instagram-worthy treats. - **Illustrated Cake Stencils:** Developing and selling pre-printed stencils for baking enthusiasts to create intricate designs on their desserts. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Bakery:** Innovating and offering hidden symbol cakes as a fun and unique addition to their baked goods selection. - **Event Planning:** Incorporating prismatic desserts into their event table settings as a visually-striking and social media friendly decoration. - **Craft Supplies:** Providing illustrated cake stencils and tools for baking aficionados to elevate their dessert creations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Classic Superhero-Inspired Donuts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krispy-kreme-hungry-for-heroes.md) - [All-Occasion Layered Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cake.md) - [Superhero-Inspired Pizza Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-batman-calzony.md) - [Buildable 3D Superhero Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gotham-city-skyline-set.md) - [Superhero Home-Inspired Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batcave-set.md) - [Superhero-Themed DIY Art Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jim-lee-batman.md) - [Dual-Flavor Movie-Inspired Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicked-celebration-cake.md) - [Game-Themed Cake Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/among-us-impostor-cake.md) - [Building Block Superhero Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batcave-shadowbox.md)
