# Bathroom Traffic Lights Tooshlights Want to Decrease Public Bathroom Wait Times By Mesel Isaac | Published 2014-09-23 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathroom-wait-times References: [citylab](http://www.citylab.com/tech/2014/07/traffic-lights-are-coming-to-a-public-restroom-near-you/374288/) & [tooshlights](http://www.tooshlights.com/) Designed to decrease bathroom wait times in public areas, Tooshlights will make using restrooms a more efficient and less awkward experience. Tooshlights uses a two colored LED lighting system to immediately inform people which toilet stalls are occupied (red), and which ones are empty (green). The design makes it so you no longer have to awkwardly glance under the bathroom stall door to check for feet. There are even plans to integrate Tooshlights data with any venues mobile app so patrons can easily find the closest unoccupied bathroom, an important tool to have at a crowded sports arena. Tooshlights has so far been installed in the Hollywood Bowl, where a decrease in bathroom wait times has already been noticed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Efficient Public Restrooms:** Tooshlights' use of LED lighting system decreases wait times and improves the restroom experience. - **Seamless Bathroom Stall Monitoring:** Tooshlights eliminates the need for awkward glances by providing immediate visual information on stall occupancy. - **Integrating Restroom Data:** Tooshlights' integration with venue mobile apps allows patrons to easily locate unoccupied bathrooms, enhancing convenience. ### Who This Affects Most - **Hospitality:** Implementing Tooshlights in hotels and restaurants can improve the efficiency of public restrooms, enhancing customer satisfaction. - **Entertainment:** Installing Tooshlights in entertainment venues like theaters and concert halls helps reduce bathroom wait times, enhancing the overall visitor experience. - **Sports:** Using Tooshlights in sports arenas and stadiums ensures that patrons can quickly locate unoccupied restrooms, improving fan experience during busy events. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Light-Filled Public Restrooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vivid-toilet-interior.md) - [Bathroom Privacy Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathroom-privacy.md) - [Smart Toilet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-toilets.md) - [Senior Bowel Tracking Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-legacy-senior-communities.md) - [Health Tracker Toilet Clips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/throne-one.md) - [Public Bathroom Location Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bathroom-app.md) - [Toilet Health Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dekoda-camera.md) - [Clean Bathroom-Locating Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woloo.md) - [Accessible Restroom Enhancements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/righthear-1.md)
