# Home Office All-in-Ones The Basso Floor Mat is for Working and Sleeping By Jessica Marcel | Published 2009-10-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basso-floor-mat References: [dornob](http://dornob.com/spartan-living-warrior-worthy-transforming-table-bed/) & [coroflot](http://www.coroflot.com/public/individual_file.asp?portfolio_id=2611233&individual_id=189025) Design student Arvin Abadilla has taken [all-in-one office furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expand-furniture) and upped the ante. The [Basso](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basso-side-table) floor mat is a [multifunctional piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-transformer-table) that can be used as a desk and as a bed. As the ad material for the Basso floor mat says, “The floor is used for a variety of reasons.” The Basso now adds to what you can use the floor for (assuming you weren’t working on the floor already). The ability to convert the Basso floor mat into a bed is truly ingenious. And perhaps the procrastinator’s best friend. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 43% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Multifunctional Furniture:** The Basso floor mat demonstrates a trend in creating furniture that serves multiple purposes, increasing efficiency and functionality. - **Flexible Workspaces:** The Basso floor mat highlights the trend towards creating adaptable workspaces that can be customized to individual needs and preferences. - **Workspace Optimization:** The Basso floor mat represents a trend in optimizing limited workspace by providing a space-saving solution that can serve as both a desk and a bed. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can explore innovative ways to create multifunctional pieces that maximize space and functionality. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate flexible furniture solutions like the Basso floor mat to create versatile work and living spaces. - **Office Space Solutions:** Companies can explore workspace optimization strategies by implementing multifunctional furniture options like the Basso floor mat. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Simple Multifunctional Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chairpf.md) - [Ultra-Organized Work Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-for-students.md) - [Private Multifunctional Desk Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/worklab.md) - [All-in-One Laptop Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/logitech-casa-popup-desk.md) - [Sliding Desk-Equipped Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boomerang-bed.md) - [Modular Fold-Out Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-wooden-workstation.md) - [Home Office Structural Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ingrid.md) - [Ergonomic Multi-Use Desk Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabinett-desk.md) - [Portable Personal Office Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beblau-vertical-office.md)
