This particular project ties together elements of sports, art and design. The use of [bright, colorful squares](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-sports-park) instead of one color or two-toned shades emphasizes the project's art and design focus. Not only are the floors printed with whimsical shades, the walls are also outfitted in similar bright colors. From above, the particular shading is designed to trick the eye to believe that the court has an elevated middle section, when in fact, it is flat and much like traditional basketball courts. Lastly, because the court is built in a metropolitan area of Paris, [nose-reduction rubber](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soundbounce) was used to produce less sound for surrounding homes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Sports](https://www.trendhunter.com/sports) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Creative Basketball Courts:** Incorporating art and design into basketball courts can create unique and eye-catching spaces. - **Optical Illusion Flooring:** Using colors and shading to create an optical illusion can add a new dimension to traditional basketball courts. - **Noise-reducing Sports Surfaces:** Incorporating noise-reducing materials into sports surfaces can benefit both athletes and surrounding communities. ### Who This Affects Most - **Sports Facilities:** There is a growing demand for unique and creative sports facilities that incorporate art and design. - **Flooring and Surfaces:** Companies in the flooring and surface industry can explore new ways to incorporate optical illusions and noise-reducing materials into their products. - **Urban Planning:** Urban planners can incorporate noise-reducing sports surfaces into their designs to benefit communities in urban areas. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Eye-Catching Basketball Parks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basketball-park.md) - [Museum-Run Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museumrun-basketball-court.md) - [Flood-Smart Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grain-collective.md) - [Empowering Artful Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/na-chainkua-reindorf.md) - [Artfully Crafted Basketball Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-court-1.md) - [Artist-Inspired Dynamic Basketballs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/round21.md) - [Vibrant Graphic Basketballs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dragon-skull-basketball.md) - [Winterized Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kfc-1.md) - [Revitalized Shopping Destinations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foot-lockers-home-court.md)
