The basket is characterized by its simple metallic construction that can be rotated thanks to a built-in mechanism that will transform it from flat to upright or vice-versa. The basket is thus great for carrying a wide range of items including fresh produce or even as a [customizable storage solution](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tumba) within the home. The transforming basket concept incorporates the swiveling mechanism into the unit alongside a tubular wooden handle to give it a comfortable feeling in the hand when carried. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 11% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Transforming Basket:** Design a basket that can be easily transformed based on specific needs or preferences. - **Swiveling Mechanism:** Incorporate a swiveling mechanism into products to make them more versatile. - **Customizable Storage Solutions:** Create products that can be used both as a carrier and a customizable storage solution. ### Where This Applies - **Retail:** Retailers can use this design to create more versatile shopping baskets that can adapt to different shopping needs. - **Home Organization:** The swiveling basket design can also be used to create customizable storage solutions for homes. - **Transportation:** Manufacturers can use the rotating basket mechanism to create more versatile and compact carrying solutions for transportation purposes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stylish Shopping Trolleys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roulette-carts.md) - [Sleek Multifuntional Lifestyle Bags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bask-bag.md) - [Angular Transforming Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optimus-furniture.md) - [3d-Printed Retail Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-3d-printed-suitcase.md) - [Dynamic Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table.md) - [Spinning Storage Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-spinning-coffee-table.md) - [Shapeshifting Delivery Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-mobility-system.md) - [Transforming Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/split-1.md) - [Shifting Orientation Smartphone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartphone-stand-charger.md)
