London-based architects Alma-nac renovated the Basing Street Rooms, a four-storey Victorian residence, into a [long-term hotel space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bob-w-stockholm) for a record label.

The architects didn't take themselves too seriously with this project, installing multicolored herringbone patterns overtop of the parquet flooring. Keeping the client in mind, they also commissioned [music memorabilia](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hard-rock-hotel) from [Island Records](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noah-x-island-slipper), Stiff Records, ZTT and Sarm for the interiors. Architect Chris Bryant explains, "Alma-nac and the client were keen not to create a direct archive, instead choosing to distill the identity of each label into an abstracted language."

The color theme of each apartment is referenced by the record sleeve designs from a nearby recording studio's archive. The apartment layout is comprised of a combined living and kitchen area, large bedroom and smaller bathroom.
