The small paper modules are folded in such a way as to give the table base enough strength to support the glass and any small objects that might rest it. The base resembles a series of three-dimensional alpha-helices. The Paper Table was based on a project aimed at demonstrating the strength of paper in combination with mathematical models. The yellow fold demonstrates the size of the individual paper shapes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Mathematical Furniture:** Designers are incorporating mathematical models into furniture design, opening opportunities for innovative pieces with unique structures and aesthetics. - **Foldable Furniture:** Foldable furniture made from paper modules offer eco-friendly and flexible design solutions that can be transformed based on needs and preferences. - **Sustainable Home Decor:** Designers are exploring the use of sustainable and eco-friendly materials like folded paper for furniture design, creating stylish and functional pieces with minimal environmental impact. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can utilize mathematical models and sustainable materials like folded paper to create innovative and eco-friendly furniture pieces that appeal to modern consumers. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate folding furniture pieces made from paper and other sustainable materials into their designs, creating functional and stylish living spaces for environmentally-conscious clients. - **Education:** Educators can incorporate furniture design projects that incorporate mathematical models and folded paper, promoting creativity, critical thinking, and eco-consciousness among students. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Harmonious Helical Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vortex-coffee-table.md) - [Paper Mable-Made Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bentley-home.md) - [Möbius Strip-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mbelius-coffee-table.md) - [Pointed Foundation Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donatas-ukauskas.md) - [Metal Sheet Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twist-side-table.md) - [Dynamic Strong Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharp-table.md) - [Dynamic Coffee Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ryb-coffee-table.md) - [Wavy Sculptural Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-coffee-tables.md) - [Japandi-Style Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloth-coffee-table.md)
