Living the Dream Brewing, a craft brewery based in Colorado, has launched a delicious new barrel-aged ale that offers a combination of old-school flavor profiles as well as more modern notes, making it a suitably complex and appropriate brew with which to kick off the New Year.

The [Festivus Fireside Barrel Aged Olde Ale](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/schlafly-christmas-ale) is initially brewed with uncrystallized syrup before then being aged for a period of over a year in [bourbon barrels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barrel-strength-bourbon), giving it a bold and boozy flavor that's certainly reminiscent of old-world ales. The end result is a beverage that has hints of dark fruit and plenty of oak and bourbon notes.

With an ABV of 9 percent, this particular barrel-aged ale is both approachable and unabashedly boozy, making it the perfect beverage to sip indoors when it's cold and inhospitable out.
