# Pup Adoption Apps The BarkBuddy App is Tinder for Puppies By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-05-28 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barkbuddy-app References: [jezebel](http://jezebel.com/theres-finally-a-tinder-for-adoptable-dogs-1582201953) & [barkbuddy](https://barkbuddy.com/) From the makers of 'BarkBox,' comes the equally-as-cleverly titled 'BarkBuddy,' an app that's being hailed as "Tinder for dogs." Unfortunately, this app isn't to help you find your pooch a mate. Instead, the app features 300,000 adorable -- and adoptable -- pups for your consideration. Just like Tinder, you swipe right to indicate your interest in a dog, and allowing the app to forward you recommendations. If you're in the market for a four-legged companion, then this app is a quick and easy way to find one. Of course, it's still a worthwhile download, even if you aren't looking for a new pet -- I mean, look at those adorable faces! Scrolling through these puppy dogs is probably a better use of your time than human Tinder. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 64% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Pup Adoption Apps:** The trend of using apps to facilitate pet adoption is disrupting the traditional process by making it easier and more accessible. - **Tinder for Dogs:** The concept of swiping right to indicate interest in a dog on a mobile app is a disruptive innovation that simplifies the search for adoptable pets. - **Adoptable Puppies:** The growing popularity of apps featuring a large database of adoptable puppies demonstrates the demand for convenient and efficient ways to find new furry companions. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Pet Adoption:** The pet adoption industry can benefit from embracing new technology-driven approaches like adoption apps to enhance the adoption process and connect more animals with loving homes. - **Mobile Apps:** The mobile app industry has the opportunity to create innovative platforms for pet adoption, such as 'Tinder for dogs,' that revolutionize the way people search for and adopt pets. - **Pet Services:** The pet services industry can leverage pup adoption apps to attract new customers and provide value-added services that cater to pet owners in search of furry companions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dog-Friendly Dating Pop-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-friendly-dating.md) - [Puppy Dating App Giveaways](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puppy-dating-app-giveaways.md) - [Connective Canine Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-park-app.md) - [Dog Matchmaker Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pegada.md) - [Expert-Led Dog Training Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expert-led-dog-training-app.md) - [Parental Pet Networks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petters.md) - [Pet Health Support Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buddydoc-app.md) - [Adoptable Playlists Pet Ads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adoptable-playlists.md) - [AI Pet Care Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-pet-care.md)
