The Barilla Chickpea Penne pasta is the latest product announced by the brand to offer consumers a way to indulge their craving for pasta in a decidedly better-for-you manner. The pasta is crafted with a single ingredient -- chickpeas -- and is packed with 19-grams of plant-based protein per 3.5-ounce serving. The single-ingredient recipe also gives the product a vegan and gluten-free profile that's also Non-GMO Project Verified.

President of Barilla Americas Jean-Pierre Comte spoke on the new Barilla Chickpea Penne pasta saying, "As a leader in pasta, we understand just how much penne is adored around the globe so we’re excited to give all pasta aficionados the opportunity to enjoy penne in a variety of ways.
