The most notable feature in this [renovation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warsaw-apartment-renovation) is the triangular-pattern tiles that the architects installed. The color-blocked red and green tiles add a fun dynamic to the space. Upon hearing they’d snagged the award, Kohn himself remarked, “We are absolutely delighted to have won the award. The project demonstrates how an interior can be about the city in which it is situated. An homage to [Barcelona](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-barcelona-edition).” Indeed, the colorful tile design does inject a distinctly Spanish flair into the apartment. The apartment also features a refreshing [open-concept design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-64) and plenty of light – especially from the charming wrought-iron balcony accessed through teal double doors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Triangular-pattern Tiles:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the tile industry by offering unique and geometric tile designs. - **Color-blocked Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in interior design by incorporating bold and vibrant color-blocked elements. - **Open-concept Living:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in architectural design by creating flexible and spacious living spaces. ### Where This Applies - **Tile Industry:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the tile industry by creating new tile patterns and designs. - **Interior Design Industry:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the interior design industry by incorporating unconventional color-blocking techniques. - **Architectural Design Industry:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the architectural design industry by rethinking traditional room layouts and incorporating open-concept living concepts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tiled Refurbished Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parramon-tahull.md) - [Barcelona Apartment Renovation Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/isern-serra.md) - [Golden Divider Apartment Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ral-snchez.md) - [Hand-Fan Plan Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cometa-architects.md) - [Vibrant Milanese Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/milanese-apartment.md) - [Gridded Urban Apartment Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-carboneria.md) - [Bright Colorful Converted Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/so-sebastio-123.md) - [Playful Apartment Makeovers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onda-apartment.md) - [Renovated Maximalist Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-di-fantasia.md)
