# Movie Villain Barbecue Tongs These Darth Vader Tongs Bring the Dark Side to the Grill By Michael Baxter | Published 2014-03-04 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barbecue-tongs References: [laughingsquid](http://laughingsquid.com/star-wars-lightsaber-barbecue-tongs-modeled-after-darth-vaders-iconic-weapon-design/) & [thefowndry](http://www.thefowndry.com/products/star-wars-lightsaber-bbq-tongs) These barbecue tongs use a pretty popular movie as inspiration for their design. Darth Vader was a lot of things in the movies but a barbecue chef wasn't one of them. Turns out the dark lord was a bit more versatile than we originally thought. These [red lightsaber barbecue tongs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightsaber-lego) won't give you access to the force but they will help you barbecue in a little bit of style. Beyond the homage to [Star Wars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-tray) though, the tongs do make things much easier for the user. It's better than using a fork or a spatula to do the flipping and you even get to hold onto the hilt while you use them. The actual red part of the lightsaber is nothing more than a case so it won't actually be there when using it, but considering you're just stowing it away, it looks great. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Movie-inspired BBQ Tools:** Capitalizing on popular movies to create unique and fun BBQ utensils. - **Character-themed Kitchen Gadgets:** Creating kitchen gadgets based on beloved characters from movies and TV shows. - **Novelty Cooking Accessories:** Introducing fun and unconventional accessories to enhance cooking experiences. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Kitchenware:** Innovating kitchen utensils and tools with unique designs and themes. - **Licensed Merchandise:** Producing officially licensed merchandise inspired by popular movies and characters. - **Outdoor Cooking Equipment:** Integrating novelty and entertaining elements into outdoor cooking supplies. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multi-Color Kitchen Tongs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multicolor-kitchen-tongs.md) - [Motion-Activated Sci-Fi Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hasbro-2.md) - [Movie-Inspired Digi-Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-tamagotchi.md) - [Sci-Fi-Themed Hot Sauces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dark-side-hot-sauce.md) - [Sci-Fi Smartphone Grips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/popsockets-dimensionals-star-wars.md) - [Fully-Forged BBQ Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomad-grills.md) - [Pro-Grade Griller Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grill-tools.md) - [LED-Powered Laser Swords](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-series-obiwan-kenobi-force-fx-elite-lightsaber.md) - [Travel-Friendly Grilling Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-tailgater.md)
