# Cheeky Political Artwork The Barak Hardley Presidents Series is Bravely Wacky By Meghan Young | Published 2011-05-22 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barak-hardley-presidents References: [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2011/05/20/the-presidents-illustrated/) & [50yearplan](http://50yearplan.com/?page_id=1341) I wonder what the current president of the United States would have to say about the Barak Hardley Presidents art series. This set is an interesting tribute to all of the powerful men that have held that prestigious title, but I wouldn't be surprised if many people consider this portfolio antipatriotic considering the fact that Hardley seems to be poking fun at these past presidents. Of course, there is more to the Barak Hardley Presidents art series than meets the eye. Although each illustration, painting and sculpture is wackier than the next, there is a thoughtfulness behind each creation. The art was inspired by personality, deeds and merits. The Barak Hardley Presidents art series will be put into a gallery show in L.A. in the new year. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Political](https://www.trendhunter.com/political) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Political Art:** Opportunity for artists to create thought-provoking and unconventional pieces that challenge political conventions. - **Satirical Art:** Potential for artists to use satire and humor to comment on political figures and events. - **Artistic Tribute:** Innovative ways to pay homage to historical figures through unique and unconventional art forms. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art Galleries:** Opportunity for galleries to showcase unconventional and thought-provoking political artwork, attracting a diverse audience. - **Political Commentary:** Opening for artists to contribute to political dialogue through satirical and thought-provoking art pieces. - **Art Collecting:** Potential for collectors to invest in unique and unconventional artworks that challenge traditional norms and provoke conversation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Americana Subculture-Themed Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bullet-proof.md) - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md) - [Playful Balloon Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keff-joons.md) - [American Art Furniture Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/american-art-furniture.md) - [Pop Art Legend-Honoring Dolls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keiichi-tanaami-1.md) - [Wooden Identity Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hughmanity.md) - [Human Duality-Themed Abstract Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/passive-aggression.md) - [Immigration System-Inspired Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/passport-series.md) - [Playful Modern Art Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brent-estabrook-debuts-storytime.md)
