# Spectacular Staple Art Baptiste Debombourg's Icarus Portrait Uses 35,000 Staples By Meghan Young | Published 2010-02-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baptiste-debombourg References: [todayandtomorrow.net](http://www.todayandtomorrow.net/2010/02/17/aggravure/) & [baptistedebombourg](http://www.baptistedebombourg.com/) I've seen some [impressive art pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-time) on Trend Hunter before, but I have to say that Baptiste Debombourg's [staple masterpiece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition) takes the cake easily. Takes it, eats it and has another. The patience and talent one must have to be able to execute something like this is astronomical. Using 35,000 staples, Baptiste Debombourg's lead image is of Icarus. I strongly suggest you take a look at the gallery above to see a close up of his work. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Staple Art:** Harnessing unconventional materials for intricate artworks. - **Patience and Talent:** Recognizing the value of meticulous craftsmanship in creating stunning masterpieces. - **Gallery Showcases:** Creating spaces that highlight extraordinary artwork and captivate audiences. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Fine Art:** Exploring innovative techniques and materials to push the boundaries of traditional art forms. - **Craftsmanship:** Emphasizing the importance of careful attention to detail in creating unique and desirable products. - **Exhibition and Event Management:** Bringing together artists and audiences to create immersive and memorable art experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [CD-Comprised Towering Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stratagems.md) - [Meticulous Paper-Stacked Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paragraphic-in-four-stacks.md) - [Stunning Origami Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-portaits.md) - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Breathtaking Woven Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-installation.md) - [Luxury Fashion Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-fashion-sculpture.md) - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md) - [Sophisticated Upcycled Home Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculptures.md) - [Spiky Inflatable Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-sculptures1.md)
