The sculptural looks are defined by clean geometric shapes and are made up of a series of poufs, which are a space-friendly solution to any space. The flexible seating can be used in any residential or commercial space with a concentric quilted seat and its signature seam stitch detail. Alda Ly, the founder and principal of [Alda Ly Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alda-ly-architecture) speaks about the new collection, stating “The multiple meanings of the [Chinese] word bao include expressions of preciousness and playfulness, and we designed a pouf that exudes both. There is practicality in the handles, mobility with the loop back, and stackability; but also whimsy and approachability in its soft, round shape, and variety of upholstery options and finishes. We enjoyed creating something that we hope is like nothing else in the market – flexible and functional, but also fun.” Image Credit: ALA ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 16% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Sculptural Geometric Design:** Exploring the use of geometric shapes and clean lines in furniture design. - **Flexible Seating Solutions:** Developing seating options that provide versatility and mobility for various spaces. - **Playful Whimsical Furniture:** Introducing furniture pieces that combine functionality with an element of fun and approachability. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** Innovating furniture design to incorporate sculptural geometric shapes and playful elements that promote comfort and usability. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating flexible seating solutions, like the ALA Bao pouf collection, in commercial and residential design to maximize space and mobility. - **Architecture:** Exploring the possibility of using playful, whimsical furniture pieces in architectural design as both functional and decorative elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bao-Resembling Modern Poufs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alda-ly-architecture.md) - [Geometric Upholstered Poufs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tait.md) - [Gathering-Encouraged Playful Poufs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palma-pouf.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Unconventional Playful Seating Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bau-1.md) - [Bubbly Boucle Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prostoria-buffa-collection.md) - [Laidback Modular Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/natuzzi-bao.md) - [Systematic Seating Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hybla-seating-system.md) - [Mochi-Inspired Seating Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mochiinspired-seating.md)
