What type of lamps used have not been mentioned, but they would have to be of the low heat producing type. Dutch designer Anneke Jakobs collected the banana cartons from the streets while attending college. She also encourages others who appreciate the yellow and blue fixture to build one for themselves. Wouldn't this be a fun addition to a covered outdoor summer party space? Get started now and you'll have yours ready for next spring! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Upcycling:** The Chiquita Chandelier demonstrates the trend of upcycling by repurposing banana cartons into a unique light fixture. - **Playful Design:** The Chiquita Chandelier showcases the trend of playful design by transforming ordinary materials into a fun and whimsical ceiling art. - **Sustainable Lighting:** The use of low heat producing lamps in the Chiquita Chandelier aligns with the trend of sustainable lighting, offering an eco-friendly alternative. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** The Chiquita Chandelier presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the interior design industry, encouraging designers to think creatively and repurpose everyday materials. - **Event Planning:** The Chiquita Chandelier opens up possibilities for event planners to incorporate unique and eco-friendly lighting solutions in outdoor party spaces. - **Home Decor:** The trend of upcycling displayed in the Chiquita Chandelier can inspire disruptive innovation in the home decor industry, encouraging consumers to explore creative and sustainable lighting options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Plant-Inspired Dynamic Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-chandelier.md) - [Metal-Glass Intuitive Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salsa-chandelier.md) - [Recycled Material Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zbozhzha-pendant-light.md) - [Jewel-Inspired Chandelier Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pearl-chandelier.md) - [Brick Puzzle Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antique-chandelier.md) - [Orange Peel Waste-Made Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apeel.md) - [Baked Good-Inspired Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant.md) - [Banana-Inspired Clothing Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/banannang.md) - [Fishnet-Made Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/philips-mycreation-droplet-lamp.md)
