Located approximately 1.5 hours by car from Shanghai, the village is now equipped with a [nature-infused riverside hotel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-by-the-river) that appears to float in the distance. The hotel is surrounded by a small river on a rectangular site. The local government invited the architects to [revitalize the village](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxeisland-farm) in an effort to encourage visitors and tourism. Each building in the complex is designed in varying rectangular shapes and clad in fresh white siding. Urbanization in China is leading to a hollowing-out of its rural areas.
