# Fictional Fawn-Inspired Seat The Adorable Bambi Chair by Takeshi Sawada Begs to be Petted By Meghan Young | Published 2012-11-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bambi-chair-by-takeshi-sawada References: [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2012/11/01/Bambi-Chairs/) & [tmiyakawadesign](http://tmiyakawadesign.com/) The Bambi Chair by Takeshi Sawada, a Japanese artist based in New York, is as adorable as the fictional fawn that inspired it. As though made for a child, the animalistic seat is diminutive in size. Nevertheless, considering that the Bambi Chair was created by an artist and not a furniture designer, the size was probably determined to reflect the height of a baby deer. Conceived and created for kamina&C, the Bambi Chair by Takeshi Sawada is complete with a flecked fur seat, faux-hooves and antler back-rest. It is predominately made out of oak wood. It was recently displayed at the Tokyo DesignBoom mart held as part of Tokyo Designers Week. Now Sawada needs to create a Thumper and Flower chair. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Animal-inspired Furniture:** Opportunity for furniture designers to create unique and whimsical pieces that are inspired by animals. - **Miniature Furniture:** There is a niche market for small-scale furniture that is designed specifically for children or small spaces. - **Artistic Furniture Design:** Artists can venture into furniture design, merging creativity and functionality to create innovative pieces like the Bambi Chair. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can explore new concepts and materials to create novel and playful furniture pieces. - **Children's Furniture:** There is an opportunity to design and market adorable and animal-inspired furniture specifically for children's rooms. - **Art and Design:** The art industry can explore collaborations between artists and furniture designers to create unique and visually striking furniture pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sprouting Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-chair-on-grass.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peace-outdoor-lounge.md) - [Mountain Atelope-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jomo-tariku.md) - [Fuzzy Modern Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fuzzy-modern-chair.md) - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quella-chair.md) - [Naturalistic Stainable Seat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daisee-chair.md) - [Curved Bamboo Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-moon-chair.md) - [Suspenseful Statement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edgeofyr.md) - [Horse-Inspired Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-falabella-stool.md)
