As the old home was Victorian, dark and periodically tight, it made for a depressing setting for everyday living. In a completely new makeover, it stands as an all-white structure with [floor-to-ceiling windows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-sky-beach-house) completely adorning the front. Planks jut out like a large shelving unit from the home, creating an undeniably mesmerizing design. Undeniably, the Balmain House now brings in the warm sunlight to brighten up each day. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Open Concept Living:** Emphasizing open areas and floor-to-ceiling windows to create bright and inviting living spaces. - **Minimalist Design:** Using all-white structures and clean lines to create a visually appealing and clutter-free environment. - **Innovative Architectural Elements:** Incorporating unconventional design features, such as jutting out planks resembling a shelving unit, to create captivating and unique aesthetics. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** Architects and designers can explore new ways of designing spaces that prioritize open concept living and incorporate innovative elements. - **Home Improvement:** Companies involved in home renovations and remodeling can offer services that focus on transforming traditional homes into modern, minimalist living spaces. - **Furniture and Interior Design:** Manufacturers and retailers can develop and promote furniture and decor items that complement the shelving unit concept trend and minimalist aesthetic. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Natural Light-Centric Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huron-house.md) - [Memory-Engrained Airy Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-lightness.md) - [Natural Light-Based Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-voids.md) - [Sleek Garden-Edge Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waverley-house.md) - [Reconfigured Spacious Brooklyn Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/z-house.md) - [Compact White-Painted Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whitepainted-modern-home.md) - [Adaptive Family Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carlton-cottage-extension.md) - [Garden-Connected Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-waverley-house.md) - [Creative Work-Encouraging Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silver-lining-house.md)
