The power bar unit consists of [magnetic outlet orbs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spot-on-charger) that will enable the [attached cords](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cords) to spin freely in the base to ensure users are never tugging them from the wall or placing undue stress on the equipment. The integrated LEDs softly illuminate when in use to indicate power is flowing, while the freestyle design of the entire system makes it easily cleaned between uses. The conceptual 'Ball-tab' power bar is the design work of Young Kim and Sung Ick Jo, and is the winner of the 2018 K-Design Award. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.8/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 99% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multidirectional Extension Cords:** The 'Ball-tab' Power Bar revolutionizes the traditional extension cord by integrating magnetic components that allow cords to spin freely, reducing stress and improving functionality. ### Where This Applies - **Office Supplies:** The 'Ball-tab' Power Bar disrupts the office supplies industry by introducing a more flexible and user-friendly extension cord design. - **Technology Accessories:** The 'Ball-tab' Power Bar presents a disruptive innovation opportunity in the technology accessories industry by offering a more efficient and convenient power solution for electronic devices. - **Interior Design:** The 'Ball-tab' Power Bar opens up disruptive innovation opportunities in the interior design industry by providing a sleek and modern power bar design that complements any workspace. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Design-Conscious Power Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/power-strip-concept.md) - [U-Shaped Power Strip Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/power-strip-2.md) - [Modular Power Strip Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodes.md) - [Pencil-Resembling Power Strips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pencil-multitap.md) - [Modular Power Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-power-strip-1.md) - [Chic Technology Power Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/360-electrical-powercurve77.md) - [Power Strip Illuminated Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightbox-power-strip.md) - [Artfully Dynamic Power Strips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aunion.md) - [Modular Self-Monitoring Power Cubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teak-smart-cube.md)
