# Water Balloon Bouquet Holders The Balloon Vase Brings Inflatable Fun to Interior Decor By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-06-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloon-vase References: [7gadgets](http://www.7gadgets.com/2011/06/22/balloon-vase/37476) & [uncommongoods](http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/balloon-vase) A vase doesn't have to be a hollow monolithic receptacle, and the Balloon Vase demonstrates how a little deviation can be good for the soul. Sophisticated stem holders can get stuffy, while this [playful piece of home decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-home-object) lightens the mood of your living space. Designer Corey Green won the [Savannah College of Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loxo-chair) and ShelterPop Challenge with this whimsical vessel, made from a bowed frame of acrylic which braces the effervescent [rubber amphora](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-hole-vase) in place. It's easy enough to swap the color of the flower holder, which can become yellow, orange, black or white, depending on your preference. One of the best features of the Balloon Vase is that a bulbous form indicates that you've poured in enough water, and a shriveled shape encourages you to add more. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Playful Home Decor:** The Balloon Vase demonstrates how a playful deviation from traditional home decor can lighten the mood of living spaces. - **Innovative Vases:** The Balloon Vase showcases the potential for innovative vase designs that deviate from the traditional format. - **Interactive Home Accessories:** The Balloon Vase represents the trend of interactive home accessories that engage and delight users. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** The Balloon Vase is a disruptive innovation opportunity for the home decor industry to create more playful designs that engage consumers. - **Floriculture:** The Balloon Vase creates opportunities for floriculture to innovate and develop designs that cater to the needs of modern home decor. - **Retail:** The Balloon Vase represents a potential disruptive innovation in the retail industry as a unique and playful product that stands out on shelves. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playful Packaging-Inspired Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strawberry-milk-vase.md) - [Minimalist Illusory Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaso-gota-vase.md) - [Chandelier-Shaped Self-Watering Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfwatering-vase.md) - [Floating Stem Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lotus-effect-vase.md) - [Whimsically Bright Napkin Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloonapkins.md) - [Unusual Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-brown-paper-bag-vase.md) - [Mouth-Blown Glass Hydro Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydro-glass-vase.md) - [Jewelry-Holding Flower Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirror-vase-stand.md) - [Delicate Colorful Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delicate-colorful-vase.md)
