Well, Natalie Kruch collected 500 [deflated balloons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-balloon-lamp), not rubber bands or string, and [twisted and wrapped](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-coenen-1) these balloons around a [wooden stool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noah-folding-stool). Kruch is an emerging artist from Canada and this is her first work for Umbra. She has exhibited her work at the 2008 Milan Design Week's Salone Satellite. She likes the challenge of “making the ordinary both intriguing and beautiful.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sustainable Furniture:** Opportunity to use recycled materials to create innovative and eco-friendly furniture designs. - **Upcycled Home Decor:** Potential to transform waste materials into unique and stylish home decor products. - **Circular Economy:** Exploring ways to repurpose and recycle materials to reduce waste and promote a sustainable economy. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture:** Innovative furniture designs using recycled materials can appeal to environmentally-conscious consumers. - **Home Decor:** Creating upcycled home decor items can attract consumers looking for one-of-a-kind and sustainable products. - **Sustainability:** Adopting circular economy principles can benefit various industries by minimizing waste and maximizing resource efficiency. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Balloon-Like Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seungjin-yang.md) - [Stone-Like Styrofoam Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kinold-styrofoam-stools.md) - [Pool Noodle-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loop-furniture.md) - [Waste-Incorporated Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-chairs.md) - [Deflated Balloon Clothing Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chong-shop.md) - [Colorful Sustainable Recycled Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stump-recycled.md) - [Oozing Cake-Like Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roll-furniture.md) - [Recycled Paper Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-plod-stool.md) - [Recycled Dynamic Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bultan-chair.md)
