The [blooming light fixtures rotate](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-chandelier) to create an eye-catching synchronized display providing visitors with a reason to look up at the heavens. Each piece stands out amidst the chromatic retail settings with its bright hues and geometric display. In addition, the lanterns create and [optical illusion of color change](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-flow) as they rotate. According to Archinect, "this mysterious color transformation in the form of the flower evokes many natural associations." Indeed the change of seasons and the fleeting nature of cyclical change come to mind as one is hypnotized by the installation. In addition, Ballistic Architecture Machine has included dishes of real flowers to further mystify with scent. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Giant Flower Lanterns:** The giant flower lanterns that hover in atriums offer an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the field of interactive art installations. - **Synchronized Light Displays:** The synchronized light displays in atriums present an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the field of immersive retail experiences. - **Optical Illusion of Color Change:** The optical illusion of color change created by rotating lanterns opens up opportunities for disruptive innovation in the field of visual perception and lighting design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art Installations:** The giant flower lanterns in atriums provide opportunities for disruptive innovation in the art installation industry, exploring new ways to engage audiences with interactive and immersive experiences. - **Retail:** The synchronized light displays in atriums offer disruptive innovation opportunities in the retail industry by enhancing the overall shopping experience and creating memorable brand interactions. - **Lighting Design:** The optical illusion of color change created by rotating lanterns presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the lighting design industry to create unique and dynamic visual effects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md) - [Suspended Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation.md) - [Stunningly Intricate Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-of-light.md) - [Reflective Public Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flowers-and-butterflies-are-dancing.md) - [Blooming Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloome.md) - [Sculptural Mall Dreamscape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unbounded-sanctuary.md) - [Futuristic Retail Kinetic Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retail-kinetic-display.md) - [Orb Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mangrove-island.md) - [Petal-Inspired Glass Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloom-wall-light.md)
