Last year I wrote about their [American Apparel canopy](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ball-nogues-built-to-wear); it's clear this duo specializes in cascading creations. Created in the courtyard of [UCLA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camping-house), the Ball-Nogues 'Table Cloth' installation serves not only as an [interesting seating area](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tumble-tables) for students, but also as a dynamic backdrop for summer concerts. Thank you Benjamin Ball and Gaston Nogues, for this outstanding outdoor structure. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 43% | Activity: 60% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Cascading Installations:** The Ball-Nogues 'Table Cloth' installation showcases the trend of cascading designs in outdoor structures. - **Dynamic Backdrops:** The installation at UCLA demonstrates the trend of using outdoor structures as dynamic backdrops for events and concerts. - **Creative Seating:** The 'Table Cloth' installation not only provides seating but also represents the trend of incorporating creativity into functional seating areas. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** Architects and designers can explore innovative ways to incorporate cascading designs into outdoor structures. - **Event Planning:** Event planners can consider using outdoor structures as dynamic backdrops for concerts and other events to enhance the overall experience. - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can take inspiration from the creative seating concept of the 'Table Cloth' installation and create unique and functional seating solutions for various spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mesmerizing Fluid Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flow-fountain.md) - [Playful Wavy Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-table-design.md) - [Acrylic Multicolor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucid-side-tables.md) - [Geometrically Informed Outdoor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-table1.md) - [Floating Canopy Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piloti-canopy.md) - [Pool-Inspired Tablecloth Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-piscine-tablecloth.md) - [Undulating Fabric-Topped Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/groove-table-concept.md) - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Eye-Catching Tabletop Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tabletop-design.md)
