# Transportable Instant Balconies The Balcon Additionnel Provides You with a Moment of Fresh Air By Gil Cohen | Published 2012-12-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balcon-additionnel References: [ignant.de](http://www.ignant.de/2012/12/03/balcon-additionnel/) & [julienberthier.org](http://www.julienberthier.org/Balcon-additionnel.html) Some days you need a new balcony pronto and for those times, Julien Berthier created the Balcon Additionnel. People who don't have a balcony for their apartment no longer have to feel the claustrophobia of being forever cooped up within the confines of their suffocating abodes. Berthier's project is a truck with a balcony attachment that can be lifted up to your apartment window, giving you the momentary escape you need from the clutter and darkness within. Made out of plastic resin and steel, you can certainly trust the Balcon Additionnel not to drop you hundreds of feet to the ground, but it is permanently attached to the truck so it won't be yours forever. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Transportable Balconies:** Opportunity for businesses to provide customizable, temporary balcony structures for apartment tenants in urban areas. - **Modular Architecture:** Innovation opportunity for companies to create modular home additions that can be easily transported and installed. - **Truck-mounted Structures:** Businesses can innovate on creating various truck-mounted structures that are easy to install and can add value to residential areas or events. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Real Estate:** Real estate companies can offer transportable balcony options for apartment tenants in urban areas. - **Construction:** Construction companies can innovate modular architecture for home additions or small living spaces. - **Event Planning:** The events industry can incorporate truck-mounted structures to enhance guests' experiences while also promoting creative and customizable designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Japanese-Inspired Portable Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bonzai.md) - [Free-Flowing Bright Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bois-perdus.md) - [Portable Minimal Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balconyfarm-planter.md) - [Compact Outdoor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-1.md) - [Balcony-Ready Solar Power Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecoflow-powerstream.md) - [Charming Traditional Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-maison-du-bonheur.md) - [Compact Comfortable Airy Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yggdrasil-tiny-house.md) - [Terraced Tiny Living](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-park.md) - [Cedar Finished Portable Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chicore.md)
