It has been modeled after a classic cake platter, complete with an [oak wood stand](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp) and smoked glass dome cover. Overall, it has a vintage vibe that will appeal to amateur and professional bakers alike. Designed by [Morton & Jonas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mark-morton), the Bake Me a Cake table lamp is set to be manufactured by [Northern Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxor-light). Interestingly, it will be inmates in a Norwegian prison near Bergen that assemble the light fixture. A unique collaboration, the lamp is inspired by the cartoon story 'The Cake with the File,' in which a mother hides a file in a cake to help her imprisoned son escape. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 30% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Pastry Platter-inspired Lighting:** The trend of incorporating pastry platter designs into lighting fixtures offers a unique and whimsical aesthetic. - **Collaboration with Prison Inmates:** The trend of collaborating with prison inmates for manufacturing provides a social and rehabilitative opportunity while creating unique products. - **Vintage-inspired Home Decor:** The trend of incorporating vintage aesthetics into home decor appeals to consumers seeking a nostalgic and cozy atmosphere. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can take advantage of the trend of vintage-inspired lighting fixtures to attract customers looking for unique and nostalgic designs. - **Lighting:** The lighting industry can explore the trend of pastry platter-inspired designs to offer creative and eye-catching products. - **Social Impact:** The social impact industry can explore the trend of collaborating with prison inmates to create employment opportunities and support rehabilitation initiatives. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bakery-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant-light.md) - [Ice Cream-Resembling Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-serve-lamp.md) - [Geometric Nostalgic Night Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handmaid-table-lamp.md) - [Colorful 3D-Printed Portable Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-soft-serve-lamp.md) - [Pasta-Inspired Curvaceous Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neotenic-lamp.md) - [Gelato-Inspired Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gelato-lamp.md) - [Stackable Modular Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/module-table-lamp.md) - [Fruit-Inspired Lighting Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/banana-lamp.md) - [Playful Brick-Born Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-lamps-1.md)
