Designer David Olschewski describes his **Badezimmer** design as "A seating group evinces a puzzling character that invites the viewer to experience it sensually and reflect on its origins. The forms are based on a [Plexiglas bathtub](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathtrope) and shower tray ensemble. The bathtub has been divided into three objects, with nothing lost in the process. All four pieces are set on [stainless steel legs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-view-chair). The focus is on the alienation of bathroom furnishings from their customary surroundings and function.". ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sensory Furniture:** Designing furniture that evokes sensory experiences, like the bathtub-inspired chair and table set, can disrupt the traditional furniture industry. - **Upcycled Design:** Repurposing familiar objects, such as the Plexiglas bathtub, into furniture pieces presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the sustainable design industry. - **Conceptual Furniture:** Creating furniture that challenges conventional expectations, like the Badezimmer design, can bring about disruptive innovation in the interior design industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Introducing sensory furniture designs can disrupt the traditional furniture industry, infusing it with new experiences and perspectives. - **Sustainable Design:** Repurposing existing objects for furniture, as seen in the bathtub-inspired set, presents a disruptive innovation opportunity in the sustainable design industry. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating conceptual furniture pieces, such as the Badezimmer set, can disrupt the interior design industry by pushing boundaries and reimagining traditional expectations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tranquil Modern Bath Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zencha.md) - [Cork Bathroom Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathroom-seating.md) - [Sustainable Bathroom Design Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sustainable-bathroom-design.md) - [Museum-Like Bathroom Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/face-face-bathroom-collection.md) - [Sustainable Modern Bathroom Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marco-carini.md) - [Bended Tubular Chair-Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept.md) - [Japanese Snack Box-Inspired Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bento-starck-box.md) - [Forest Walk-Inspired Bathroom Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antao.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Bulbous Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubble-stool.md)
