The Bad Posture belt was made with an arduino board, a Wave Shield from Ladyada, and a [flex bend sensor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/necklife), says Sundh's website. Essentially, the bend sensor can detect whether a person's back is arched or not, and whether the arch fits the desired arch value that has been calibrated into the system by the user. According to Sundh, if the back is more arched than the desired value inputted into the belt, the Wave Shield will emit a sound informing you to correct your position.
