# Gigantic Peeing Puppy Statues Bad Dog by Richard Jackson Emulates a Dog Relieving Itself on a Wall By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2013-02-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bad-dog-by-richard-jackson References: [ocregister](http://www.ocregister.com/news/dog-496103-museum-art.html) It might seem like a strange sight to make a [statue](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1) out of, but Bad Dog by Richard Jackson features a [28-foot puppy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-dogs) peeing onto the side of a wall. Installed at the Orange County Museum of Art, the huge creation is being praised by visitors as being either a goofy new addition or a somewhat out of place installation. This mixed bag of reviews is helping to skyrocket the creation to receiving widespread media coverage. The installation is playful, doesn't take itself too seriously and definitely grabs attention; these are all perfect characteristics that I believe makes it the perfect new addition to the southern California museum. However you view Bad Dog by Richard Jackson, just make sure you aren't in the relief zone of the [giant pooch](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animal-balloon). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 84% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Giant Animal Sculptures:** Creating massive sculptures of animals is gaining popularity as an attention-grabbing art installation. - **Playful and Provocative Art:** Artists are pushing boundaries and creating playful and provocative installations that challenge traditional ideas of what art can be. - **Interactive Public Art:** Art installations that encourage audience participation and interactivity are becoming more popular, resulting in increased public engagement with art. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Sculpture:** The art and sculpture industry should explore more unconventional and provocative installations to attract new and diverse audiences. - **Tourism and Travel:** Travel destinations that feature unique and attention-grabbing public art installations can become popular tourist attractions and boost local economies. - **Advertising and Marketing:** Marketers and advertisers can take inspiration from these types of playful and attention-grabbing installations to create more engaging and effective campaigns. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bow Tie-Wearing Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bow-tiewearing-sculpture.md) - [Folk Creature Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibredog.md) - [Artful Doghouse Design Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-for-dogs-exhibition.md) - [Balloon Dog Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloon-dog-cake.md) - [Art-Transformed Home Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloon-dog.md) - [Luxury Gut Health Jewelry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pooch-pendant.md) - [Pop-Up Dog Parks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unleashed-dog-park.md) - [Gas Rig Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/striking-art-installation.md) - [Sculptural Feline Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/javier-calleja-2.md)
