The name is pretty self-explanatory; the Backpack Umbrella is essentially a [carry-on parasol](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ori-umbrella). However, one should note that it's an independent pack, which means it'll only work if you purchase this item. Other than that, the umbrella is supported by the pack's built-in, [adjustable support rods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standpoint). There are also multiple straps that go across the body for that extra bit of security so that nothing slips. Whether you're walking a dog, [carrying groceries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handsfree-2) -- or heck, all of the above -- the Backpack Umbrella would be your best bet. It's now available for purchase at Hammacher Schlemmer. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 4% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Backpack Parasols:** Innovative backpack umbrella designs make it easier to carry items and stay dry. - **Hands-free Umbrellas:** New hands-free umbrella options allow for greater convenience and functionality. - **Adjustable Support Systems:** The use of adjustable support systems creates new opportunities for wearable technology and outdoor gear. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Outdoor Gear:** Outdoor gear manufacturers can capitalize on the trend towards hands-free and wearable technology to create innovative new products. - **E-commerce:** E-commerce companies can benefit from offering new and innovative products that make life easier for busy consumers. - **Consumer Goods:** Consumer goods brands can develop new products that incorporate adjustable support systems to increase functionality and convenience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Car Roof Luggage Holder](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/car-storage.md) - [All-Weather Protection Umbrellas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weatherman-trek-umbrella.md) - [Multifunctional Beach Backpacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bumruk.md) - [Connected Dual Functioning Umbrellas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hulasol.md) - [Tire-Carrying Backpack Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-backpack.md) - [Adaptable Three-in-One Bags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultix-outdoors-superpack.md) - [Multimodal Waterproof Backpacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multimodal-waterproof-backpacks.md) - [Beach Backpack Recliners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beach-backpack-recliner.md) - [Multifunctional Camper Backpacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bolotor-bolo-packs.md)
