# Carpeted Kid-Friendly Seating The Baby Bear Chair is Soft, Cute and Proofed for Children By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-12-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-bear-chair References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/BABY-BEAR-CHAIR/2156419) & [aris-stathis](http://www.aris-stathis.com/#937/behance) Injuries among young ones are inevitable amidst any situation but objects like the Baby Bear Chair reduce the risk by incorporating soft surfaces and safe distractions. Providing a scaled-down piece of furniture for children to use and feel grown up, designer Aris Stathis made yet another attempt to engage his target client a little lower to the ground. The [small hardwood chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tanuvi-hegde) actually hides [four tiny drawers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster) beneath the seat, each pivoting out from the corners at the legs and intended to store toys during tidy up time in the playroom. Children are sure to be fascinated by the secrecy of the concealed cubbies, keeping their bottoms firmly on the floor. Of course, the backrest, cushion and even the four supports of the Baby Bear Chair are covered in a naturally dyed [fuzzy upholstery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pillowsac-chair-jr) to prevent any impact-related scratches. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 73% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Alpha - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Kid-friendly Furniture:** Designing furniture with soft, safe surfaces and creative features for children to reduce injury risks. - **Concealed Storage:** Incorporating secret storage spaces into furniture to engage and fascinate children while encouraging tidy habits. - **Natural Dye Materials:** Using environmentally-friendly, allergen-free dyes for upholstering children's furniture to promote safety and sustainability. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for furniture manufacturers to incorporate safer, more creative features into kid-focused products. - **Toy Manufacturing:** Opportunity for toy manufacturers to partner with furniture makers to create storage-friendly, kid-friendly furniture-toy hybrids. - **Sustainable Materials:** Opportunity for sustainable materials suppliers to market eco-friendly dyes and fabrics suitable for use in kid-friendly furniture. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Eco-Friendly Ergonomic Child Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plogic-chair.md) - [Modular Chromatic Child Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kidzilla-chair.md) - [Transforming Child Stool Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipflap-childrens-chair.md) - [Fuzzy Modern Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fuzzy-modern-chair.md) - [Kid-Friendly Modular Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/figgy-play-couch.md) - [Moon-Inspired Modular Seating Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wigiwama.md) - [Childhood-Informed Dome Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clodette-chair.md) - [Cozy Flower-Like Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beba-armchair.md) - [Adaptable Modern High Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bugaboo-giraffe.md)
