Able to be installed in a matter of minutes, AXIS Gear works by opening and closing your window coverings at predetermined times that you set or in reaction to weather/temperature conditions (when paired with additional sensors like the [Nest](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-nest-ceiling-fan) home thermostat). Ideal for those who want to wake with the sun or have window coverings react accordingly when you aren't home, AXIS Gear is a great addition to the connected home. Currently funding on [Indiegogo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gendome-home-3000), AXIS Gear is solar powered to control costs even more. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Smart Home Automation:** AXIS Gear allows for smarter window coverings that can open and close based on preset schedules or in response to weather conditions. - **Energy Efficiency:** AXIS Gear helps save electricity by adjusting window coverings to optimize temperature regulation. - **Internet of Things (iot):** AXIS Gear can be connected to other smart devices, such as the Nest thermostat, to create a more interconnected home environment. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Automation:** AXIS Gear is a game-changer in the home automation industry, offering innovative window covering solutions. - **Energy Management:** AXIS Gear contributes to the energy management industry by providing a cost-effective solution to regulate indoor temperature. - **Smart Home Devices:** AXIS Gear is a valuable addition to the smart home devices market, facilitating convenient and efficient control of window coverings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Aftermarket Automation Blind Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arpobot-smart-shade.md) - [Measurement-Free Smart Curtains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchbot-1.md) - [Connected Curtain Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curtain-robot.md) - [Voice-Activated Window Blinds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arpobot.md) - [Solar-Powered Blind Openers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blind-tilt.md) - [Solar-Powered Curtain Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchbot-curtain-3.md) - [Smart Curtain Motors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aqara-curtain-driver-e1.md) - [Aftermarket Connected Blind Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchbot-blind-tilt.md) - [Smart Motorized Shades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motorized-shades.md)
