Fashionable art, or arty fashion?

These fabulously weird, award-winning outfits blur the borders between [art and fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-days-march-1). Chinese designer Yang Du is described as a surrealist fashion creator and already has a cult following in Japan and in her homeland of China.

Yang Du graduated from the UK fashion institution, [Central St Martin's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/easy-bake-intense), and recently won the esteemed Colin Barnes Student Artist of the Year award. Yang will be doing a series of UK and Scottish exhibitions as well as a New York touring exhibition.

I love these [oversized animal-inspired costumes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biomimicry-fashion). Check out the basket ball playing horse and the sad elephant on the steps. Now *that* is fashion art!
