# Incredibly Modern Residence Interiors Susanna Cots Works on Autumn in the North Project By Kalin Ned | Published 2023-03-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autumn-in-the-north References: [design-milk](https://design-milk.com/susanna-cots-creates-a-connected-home-with-few-walls-or-doors/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=susanna-cots-creates-a-connected-home-with-few-walls-or-doors) Autumn in the North is Barcelona-based interior designer Susanna Cots' latest project. The dwelling expertly blends wooden accents and a paired back color palette to evoke strong modern sensibilities. Very few instances of darker materials are employed throughout the home—one, for example, is the [slick black kitchen island](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grigio-verde) that produces an interesting accent. The notion of connectivity throughout the home—both physical and metaphorical—is accented by design choices that leave the space open. For instance, there is a [raised wooden platform](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oak-house-1) on the premises that "becomes the perfect reading nook for the children of the house," while the kitchen and dining area are open concept. The inclusion of a [massive skylight in the kitchen area](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omarama-attic) creates a welcoming ambiance. Autumn in the North is located in Navarra, Spain.
