# Life-Sustaining Seating Autonomous Living Unit Chair is All You'll Ever Need By Andrew Robichaud | Published 2009-07-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autonomous-living-unit References: [dornob](http://dornob.com/futuristic-furniture-post-apocalyptic-interior-design-idea/) & [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2009/05/26/autonomous-living-unit-by-eduardo-mcintosh/) This spaceship-like chair is a look into the future of life itself. Designed by Eduardo McIntosh, the Autonomous Living Unit is a life-sustaining piece of furniture that, in theory, should provide for all your needs. The chair is a theoretical solution to a current housing crisis that sees so many homeless people in so many parts of the world with absolutely nothing else but broken down areas to go to. The idea is that, by putting this chair in those places, it automatically becomes a livable environment. I wonder if it has built-in video games? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.3/10 - Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multiple Personality Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multi-purpose-furniture-chair-stripe-by-jan-schreiner-doubles-as-a-coffee-t.md) - [Sleek Tripod Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kasese-tripod-chair-iconic-furniture-design-from-hella-jongerius.md) - [Cubic Chic Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/functional-chic-chairs-sancals-fusion-armchair-works-in-any-room.md) - [Rocking Beach Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rocking-on-the-beach-chair.md) - [Flip-Over Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joven-de-la-vega-flip-over-furniture.md) - [Classic Chairs Reinvented](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chairs-linda-nordqvist.md) - [Recliners for Gamers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/video-game-junky-chairs-ultimate-gaming-chair-answers-prayers.md)
