Those who wish to take up gardening but don't want the maintenance that goes along with the popular hobby can water up to 10 plants at a time with the convenient [Hydra](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/claytofoam-daily-cleanser) system. The system has six watering volumes that the owner can set to determine how much water each plant receives. The device works by plugging into an outlet rather than running on batteries and can be loaded with liquid fertilizer to get both watering and health out of the way in one go. The Hydra's main intention is to encourage [urban farming](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydroponic-tower) as well as healthier and "greener" food consumption. This automated plant watering system ensures convenience and health while simultaneously promoting eco-friendly practices. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Automated Plant Watering Systems:** Automated plant watering systems are revolutionizing gardening by providing convenience and precise watering. - **Indoor Gardening:** Indoor gardening is becoming increasingly popular as people seek convenient and space-saving ways to grow plants. - **Urban Farming:** Urban farming is on the rise as people look for sustainable ways to grow their own food and make use of limited space. ### Where This Applies - **Smart Home:** The smart home industry can capitalize on automated plant watering systems by integrating them into their ecosystem for seamless gardening experiences. - **Agriculture:** The agriculture industry can benefit from automated plant watering systems by maximizing water usage efficiency and reducing labor costs in large-scale farming operations. - **Home Improvement:** The home improvement industry can tap into the growing market of indoor gardening by offering products and services tailored to urban dwellers looking to cultivate plants in limited spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Connected Plant Hydration Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/growcube-smart-watering-system.md) - [Self-Sustaining Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/automated-hydroponic-indoor-garden.md) - [Automated Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-evergrow.md) - [App Controlled Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydroponic-farm.md) - [Plant Watering Smart Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/growcube.md) - [Automated Plant Irrigation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-irrigation.md) - [AI-Powered Autonomous Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gardyn.md) - [Automated Indoor Garden Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-hydroponic-garden.md) - [Climate-Controlled Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-flower-system.md)
