# Miniature Pod-Like Electric Chargers The AUTEV is a Portable Robot that Charges Vehicles By Amy Duong | Published 2023-05-18 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autev References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2023/05/17/the-future-of-electric-vehicle-infrastructure-this-robot-charger-can-drive-up-to-your-ev-and-charge-it-anywhere/) AUTEV is a new [electric charging solution](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ev-charging-solution) that is designed to move around as an autonomous robot and reaches electric vehicles, rather than the other way around. It is a small device that looks similar to a pod and rests on a foundation of four wheels, which allows it to move freely around a parking lot. Users simply need to plug its charging outlet into their EVs and go about their day. The goal is to make fleets of the AUTEC available to garage operators to reach a commercial use by early 2024. Founder and CEO of AUTEV Osama AlSalloum note that “Our market research has shown that there is a huge gap in the market between the increase of EVs on the streets and how [EV charging infrastructure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rheinmetall-curb-charger) is growing. Building new [public charging stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-vehicle-station) or dedicated EV charging parking spaces in areas of shared parking presents logistical challenges,” Co-Founder and COO of AUTEX Syd Manna continues, “We have developed an autonomous charging robot that can provide on-demand charging wherever it is needed. Our technology reduces the need for a fixed charging infrastructure and makes EV charging more convenient for EV owners.” Image Credit: AUTEV ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.7/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 94% | Freshness: 15% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Autonomous Charging Robots:** Developing innovative autonomous charging robots to make EV charging more convenient and reduce the need for fixed charging infrastructure. - **On-demand Electric Vehicle Charging:** Developing technologies that meet the gap in the market between the increase in EVs and how EV charging infrastructure is growing by providing on-demand charging wherever it is needed. - **Portable Electric Charging Solution:** Designing portable electric charging solutions that can move around as an autonomous robot and reach electric vehicles, reducing the need for a fixed charging infrastructure. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Automotive Industry:** Adopting autonomous charging robots that provide on-demand charging and make EV charging more convenient for EV owners. - **Smart Parking Industry:** Partnering with portable electric charging solution providers to offer on-demand charging services in their parking facilities, enhancing the convenience and experience of EV owners. - **Robotics Industry:** Developing autonomous charging robots to meet the growing need for convenient and flexible electric vehicle charging services. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Automated EV Charging Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ev-recharging-robot.md) - [Compact EV Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ev-chargers.md) - [EV-Charging Smart Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ziggy-robot.md) - [On-Demand EV Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evcharging-service.md) - [Accessible EV Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accessible-ev-charging-station.md) - [Wireless Robotic EV Charges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evbuddy.md) - [Portable Autonomous Mini Marts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/juxta-nomad.md) - [Parking Spot Vehicle Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/watt-ev-charger.md) - [Wireless Automotive Charging Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/one-pointech.md)
