# Off-Grid Truck Campers The Auriga Explorer Converts into a Storage-Rich, Expedition-Ready Vehicle By Amy Duong | Published 2025-10-07 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/auriga-explorer References: [auriga-explorer.de](https://auriga-explorer.de/en) The Auriga Explorer reimagines the pickup truck as a mobile micro home by integrating a weather-resistant composite camper shell atop the bed. Mounted either on a [Ford](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bedrock-xt2) [Ranger](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/advbox) or [Volkswagen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alpincamper) Amarok, it adds generous storage through slide-out modules, spacious wardrobe space, and a pop-up roof that delivers increased headroom when deployed. The shell itself is formed in glass-fiber-reinforced plastic for durability and lightweight structure. Inside, the layout balances compact living with usability. A dining area transforms into a double bed, and the interior includes a compact two-burner hob, oven unit, and concealed shower with a pull-out dry toilet. Wardrobe compartments organize gear and clothing, while slide-outs expand the camping envelope beyond the truck bed. Exterior touches reflect utility and mobility: the system is built to ship globally, with dimensions that fit standard container freight. The Explorer is currently a prototype, slated for availability by late 2025, though pricing and markets remain undisclosed.
