The fridge is imagined with a [compartmentalized construction](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xiaomi-mijia-refrigerator-pro) that offers dedicated storage sections for items instead of having everything in one large area. This helps to increase user efficiency as well as electrical efficiency by only requiring a specific area to be accessed according to needs. The conceptual 'AURA' refrigerator also features [intelligent lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-signature-refrigerator), which was described further by the designers: "When approached by the user, the brightness increases as if AURA warmly greets them. At the same time, the soft back-light creates elegant silhouettes of the items inside on the translucent glass door, to remind the users what they have in the fridge without having to open the door.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Compartmentalizing Refrigerators:** Refrigerator manufacturers can explore designing refrigerators with compartmentalized constructions to increase efficiency and user experience. - **Intelligent Lighting:** Refrigerator manufacturers can incorporate intelligent lighting features that increase brightness as users approach and create elegant silhouettes of the items inside the fridge without opening the door. - **Smart Home Integration:** Refrigerator manufacturers can integrate with smart home systems to allow users to monitor and control their refrigerators remotely. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Appliances:** Companies in the appliances industry can explore producing compartmentalized refrigerators with smart features that increase efficiency and usability. - **Smart Home Systems:** Companies in the smart home industry can explore integrating refrigerators with their systems to provide users with more control and monitoring options. - **Interior Design:** Companies in the interior design industry can explore designing kitchens with refrigerators that fit seamlessly with the overall design aesthetic. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bespoke Multi-Section Refrigerators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arte-mini-refrigerator.md) - [Sleek Food Display Fridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kollect-smart.md) - [Recipe-Recommending Smart Fridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bespoke-4door-flex-refrigerator.md) - [Suitcase-Style Mini Fridge](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-mini-fridge.md) - [Dynamic Lighting-Equipped Fridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-objet.md) - [Wheel-Base Smart Refrigerators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fridze.md) - [Sleek Contemporary Smart Fridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-smart-fridge.md) - [Customizable LED Panel Refrigerators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-moodup.md) - [Assistive Smart Refrigerators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-assistant.md)
